Just wondering if you have tried the salvation army or the red cross? Also the electric company in your state should have quite a few programs to help needy people with their electric bills also maybe catholic charities? also check for the equal opportunity cabinet if they have one there. Im truly sorry you are having a rough spot in your life, I wish you the best, and your children are beautiful.
hopefully this wont sound mean, because it is sincerley not meant to be , but, if you are by yourself right now, and the town that you are living in is not helping you, and there are no jobs there, why not just move to a different town, I understand thats not an easy thing to do, but alot of times staying in a situation such as yours just adds to the depression, get a paper for the next town, check for jobs ahead of time, check online for jobs in another town, sometimes a move in a depressing time is a great help, it may just clear your head and let you be able to get your boys back with you, Im going through some tough times too right now, and i question why God lets people go through what they do, and I havent been able to figure out why yet, but I keep on trying, some days are better than others, Just sit down and figure out your options, just remember some towns are more giving than others, some people have more humanity than others, you just have to get your head straight and find them. From my experience the only way you do not have to pay an attorney up front is if it is a work related injury case,(workmans comp) since this is a medical malpractice case, im pretty sure you have to pay the attorney out of your own pocket. you need to contact your old attorney to find out why he dropped you,maybe he thinks you didnt have a good enough case. have you tried free legal aid in your area? Hi, I am in need of extensive dental work, I am off of work due to carpel tunnel surgery, in both hands, and have no dental insurance from work, I have osteophrosis and my teeth are decaying at a rapid rate, I have already lost one of my front teeth, it snapped off at the gumline, 3 other teeth have also snapped off at the gumline, and the rest of my top teeth are rotting at the gumline, I have tried for dental credit , but was denied, i have tried dental clinics, but am told since i am not on welfare i would have to pay for all services the same day they are performed, I have checked for dental schools in my area and the nearest one is a six hour drive, I have no car. I have applied for a welfare medical card and was not approved because i collect workmans comp, I have called every dentist in the phonebook and was told they do not accept payment plans, all money due the date of service, I called the dental society and explained my situation and a dentist emailed me and told me to call and make an appoinment, so I called and was told to bring at least $200 to the first visit!! I even put a letter in my local newspaper asking why no dentists accept payment plans, and got no responses. I found a dentist that offered free xrays and an initial exam, and was told all of my top teeth must be pulled as they are too bad to save, and 1 bottom tooth . he said it will cost $4,800 to pull all the teeth and make an upper plate for me!!! but he also would not accept a payment plan. I am the only one receiving money in my house, it is me and my husband, he used to get SSI, but was cut off of that because of me working , so I have to pay everything myself. how do dentists expect people to pay for their services? No one has that kind of money on hand, If anyone has any ideas or can help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. Please note that I have tried all the social services in my area to no avail. I hate looking in the mirror, and talking to people is so embarressing, because they look at you like you are a scumbag, I see so many people with pretty teeth and if I had one wish in the world for myself, it would be to have pretty teeth like everyone else. This is crazy but I have even written to some of the talkshows asking if they could do a show on why dentists will not accept a payment plan when ppl need extensive work. Never got an answer. And lately it is kind of scaring me cuz i have seen on tv that people that have rotting teeth can die from it.Any ideas anyone????
I am 48 years old, I am off of work for over a year after carpel tunnel surgery that didnt work right, I am married to my husband for 28 years, we have 1 daughter and 4 beautiful grandbabies. We havent had a great last year or so, April of 2006 my husband had mutiple organ failure, and amazed doctors by surviving, the organ failure was caused by a cholestrol pill, ( believe it or not! ) he also had a brain stroke and was left with mild brain damage,and extensive muscle damage, to top that off he is bi-polar, so its been a rough year to say the least. Next to that loosing my teeth is the second worst thing that has happened, I used to have such a pretty smaile and now its gone, and it is so depressing,
